On Wednesday 3rd June, the Moth Club held an event at Old Warden to celebrate the fact that 2015 is the 90th Anniversary of the first flight of the DH 60 Moth.
In addition to a fly-in, which a number of Gipsy Moths and Tiger Moths attended, there was a lunch with Henrietta, Duchess of Bedford, as guest of honour. The lunch was held in hangar 3, overlooked by Cirrus Moth G-EBLV and DH60X Moth G-EBWD,
The Shuttleworth Trust also provided a short tour of their workshop area and an afternoon display was flown by Cirrus Moth G-EBLV, the oldest DH Moth still flying.
We were sat next to Stuart McKay at lunch and the whole event was very convivial and sociable. Stuart offered to review my book on DH Moths, which has now been published and to promote it at the Moth Club Rally in August.
The gallery of photos shows all of the Moths present and a number of other visiting and resident aircraft.
